Why SlackYard
A real slackline, without the trees
Everything that makes slacklining fun, from the bounce to the balance, in a system you can set up anywhere there's grass.
-
Anchors that hold
Ground screws lock the line in with a cordless drill and come out clean.
-
A-frames that adjust
Four height settings and 3–16 ft of line, so the same setup works for a first-timer and a pro.
-
The world's favorite line
GIBBON's 2 in ClassicLine with a safety-lock ratchet: wide, grippy and steady underfoot.
Plan your space
Will it fit? Here's what you need
SlackYard sets up on a lawn or hard-packed soil. The line runs between two A-frames, with a ground anchor behind each one.
- Line: 3–16 ft
- A-frames: 10–16 in high
- Full length: Up to 30 ft
Set the height for your length
| Line length | A-frame setting |
|---|---|
| 3–7 ft | Lowest setting |
| 7–12 ft | Second setting |
| 12–16 ft | Third or fourth setting |
Start low and short, then add length and height as you improve.
Where it works
- Grass lawns
- Hard-packed soil
- Parks & fields
- Sand
- Artificial turf
- Concrete & decks
Soft or sandy soil? Extend the ground anchors and add extra screws for more hold. Very hard ground? Water the lawn first and the screws drive in more easily. Need it indoors? Try the SlackRack.

FAQ
What ground can I set it up on?
Grass and hard-packed soil. It isn't made for sand, artificial turf or very soft ground. For softer soil, extend the ground anchors and add extra screws. For hard soil, water the lawn first so the screws drive in more easily.
Do I need any tools?
Just a cordless drill to drive the ground screws. The drill bit and the Allen wrench for the A-frames are in the box.
How long does setup take?
Under 15 minutes with a cordless drill. Most people set it up once at the start of the season and leave it ready to use.
How much space do I need?
The line runs 3 to 16 ft (1 to 5 m) between the two A-frames, and a ground anchor sits behind each frame. At full length the whole setup spans about 30 ft (9 m) and stands about 1.5 ft (0.5 m) tall. For a smaller yard, set the anchors closer together and use a shorter line.
Is it good for beginners and kids?
Yes. You start just 10 inches off the ground on a short, tight line, which is the easiest way to learn. Lengthen and raise it as balance improves. It's built for kids and adults; we recommend supervising young children.
What is the weight limit?
One person at a time, up to 400 lb (181 kg).
Can I leave it up outside?
Yes. It's built from weather-resistant materials and most owners leave it up all season. Check the anchors and the ratchet each time before you use it.
Will the ground screws damage my lawn?
No. The screws work a lot like an aerator. When you take SlackYard down you're left with small holes that grass usually recovers from in a few days.
Can I set it up on a slope?
On a gentle slope, yes. The A-frames have multiple height settings, so you can set each one differently to level the line.
How far apart should the A-frames be?
Start with them 3 ft (1 m) apart and move them further apart as you get comfortable. The maximum is about 16 ft (5 m) of line. Keep each A-frame within two A-frame lengths of its anchor; the setup guide shows how to measure it.
Can I use a different slackline?
SlackYard is designed for the included 2 in GIBBON ClassicLine. Webbing from other GIBBON 2 in sets works but won't reach full length, and 1 in lines aren't compatible.
How is it different from the SlackRack?
SlackYard anchors into grass or soil and adjusts from 3 to 16 ft, so you can progress over grass, low to the ground. The SlackRack is freestanding on any flat surface, indoors or out, at a set length.
Is there training to help me learn?
Yes. Scan the QR code on the box to start the free SlackYard program in the GIBBON app, from your first steps to walking the full line.

SlackYard comes with a 2-year warranty and holiday returns thru Jan 31. See our return policy for details.
