Frequently asked questions

What do I need to set up a SlackLine?

Two strong anchor points, such as healthy trees. Each TreeWear Set comes with the line, a ratchet, TreeWear tree protection and a setup guide, so there is nothing else to buy to get started.

Which SlackLine should I choose?
  • FunLine: kids and first-timers. Low stretch allows lower, safer setups.
  • ClassicLine: our best-selling all-rounder for beginners and pros.
  • BananaLama: 1.5 in wide, between our 2 in and 1 in lines, easy to learn with lively bounce.
  • FlowLine: 1 in wide for a smooth feel over longer distances.
  • JibLine and SurferLine: dynamic lines built for jumps and tricks.
  • TravelLine: compact and light enough for a backpack.
  • Fitness SlackLine: includes handgrips, a stretch band and 16 guided workouts.
What if I don't have trees?

Choose a freestanding option instead. The SlackYard sets up in a yard or park with ground anchors, so no trees are needed, and the SlackRack works indoors or out on almost any flat surface.

How high and how far apart should I set it up?

Start low and short. Pick anchors about 15 to 30 ft (5 to 10 m) apart and keep the line around knee height, so it sits close to the ground when someone stands in the middle. Raise the height and length as you improve.

Do I need tree protection?

Yes, always. TreeWear pads protect the bark and your webbing, and they are included with every TreeWear Set. For wider trees, use TreeWear XL.

Is slacklining safe for kids?

Yes, with the right setup. Keep the line low over soft ground, cover the ratchet with a RatPad and supervise young children. The FunLine is designed for kids, with low-stretch webbing and a RatPad included.

How do I take my SlackLine down safely?

Follow the release steps in your setup guide and let the tension out in a controlled way, keeping hands and face clear of the ratchet. For lines under higher tension, the Slow Release System lets you detension gradually instead of all at once.

Can I return it?

Yes, including gear you've used. You can return it through January 31, 2027 with our extended holiday returns for a refund. Imperfect and blemished items are final sale. See our return policy for the details and how to start a return.
